Airspace Use Plan (AUP)
Airspace Use Plan (AUP)
AUP indicates the activity of TSA, TRA and certain R and D areas with buffer zones. In addition, the AUP announces the closure of PERM and CDR1 class ATS routes. The AUP is published daily and it is valid for 24 hours, starting at 0600 UTC on the day of operation. Eurocontrol publishes Europe-wide EAUP.
Updated Airspace Use Plan (UUP):
AMC can update the previously published airspace use plan by publishing UUP after receiving information from the airspace user about the change in the airspace reservation request. The UUP contains the same information as the AUP.
The UUP is published and is valid as follows:
- UUP6 is published either at the latest on the day before the activity by 2000 UTC (19 UTC in summer time) or by 0600 UTC on the day of the activity. UUP6 is valid from 0600 to 0600 UTC, thus completely replacing the previously published AUP.
- Between 0700 and 2000 UTC (summer time 0600 to 1900 UTC) the UUP can be published every 30 minutes, always replacing the previously published AUP/UUP in its entirety.
Fields of AUP/UUP:
- The Closed ATS Routes and Category 1 CDR fields show the time and altitude information of the permanent ATS routes and CDR1 category conditional routes that have been closed by the AMC and are not available at the pre-tactical level for flight planning. Note a separate NOTAM is not issued.
- The AMC Manageable Areas (AMA) fields show the activity data of TSA, TRA and certain R and D areas approved by AMC at the pre-tactical level, along with their buffer zones.
- Below the transfer altitude (5000ft AMSL in Finland), the altitudes must be presented numerically correctly in the MNM FL field (e.g. in the AUP FL030 = 3000ft AMSL).
Notice: The letter after the area name (Z, R, S, T, etc.) refers to the flight plan buffer zone (Flight Plan Buffer Zone, FBZ) or FUA restriction associated with the booking area in question. This letter code or the restriction attached to it does not need to be taken into account in VFR flight operations.
